JD has over 15 years of experience in fire apparatus manufacturing, JD has held senior roles at Ferrara Fire Apparatus before joining US Fire Apparatus. With a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Pittsburgh, JD has a proven track record of implementing strategies that drive revenue growth and increase profitability. At US Fire Apparatus, JD has implemented a streamlined design process that allows for quicker design and build time of the most common fire apparatus, while still ensuring the highest quality.
In addition to his work in the fire apparatus industry, JD is a firefighter for the East Side Fire Department in Baton Rouge, LA, as well as a volunteer in Albany, LA. During his time in college, JD was a live-in firefighter for the Richland Township Fire Department of Cambria County, and prior to that, a volunteer firefighter in his hometown of Arnold, PA.
JD’s dedication to the firefighting community is further evidenced by his certifications in Hazardous Materials/WMD Awareness and Fire Fighter I from Louisiana State University, as well as his certification as an Emergency Medical Responder from the State of Louisiana Bureau of Emergency Medical Services. JD has also completed various courses in firefighting and emergency response through the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy
